Isn't it interesting that Live Earth's organizers chose a symbol -- SOS -- from a technology that was declared dead only a few years ago? What's even more interesting is that habits and ways of living declared uncool and old-fashioned only a generation ago are coming back in vogue, like drinking from a china cup at work or Starbucks instead of styrofoam or using reusable bags instead of plastic to carry the groceries home in or, for the diehard and energetic, mixing up one's own cleaning solutions with borax and baking soda.
