Clogged Airwaves are Interfering with my Phone

Does anyone else have this problem? My analogue cordless had a lot of static on the line, so I got a digital one. It was great. I could hear so clearly. Then all of a sudden, I couldn't. I'd mash the phone into my ear, but I still could not hear people on the other end of the line. So I checked the volume button, the voice enhancement feature, the battery level. Nada. Sometimes I can hear people and sometimes not. And when I cannot, they fade in and out like I'm on a bad cell phone connection. And now always there's background hiss even when I can hear. I'm thinking I'm in the middle of a wireless network war zone, and it's now not only completely destroyed my reception of channel 11 (CH Hamilton) but is interfering with my cordless.

Is there anything I can do? Or should I go back to my staticky analogue. Actually I did a couple of times, and could hear so much better on it than the digital. Technology! It'll drive you mad!!

If it's a 2.4GHz phone it could be a wireless router squawking nearby. If it is, you might be able to persuade them to change the transmission channel. That's why I went for 5.8GHz when I bought new phones.
I'm pretty sure it's a 5.8, but I'll double check. It's nice to know there really is an issue with wireless routers and some cordless phones and that I'm not hallucinating! Nobody at the store told me about this potential problem. :(

Microwaves are nearly 2.4GHz too I've read.

It looks like it is time for you to change to VoIP. That should clear up your problem altogether.
Only problem with VoIP is when the hydro goes down, so does my phone. Unfortunately, Toronto Hydro isn't the reliable supplier it used to be. But I'd probably get it as my second phone line if I needed one again!
