It's during the Christmas season that one really notices the inadequacy of the TTC. Kids coming home from school vie with shoppers heading to the malls, platforms become seas of shifting people as they look for some space, streetcars take off as you're running for them their drivers chuckling gleefully at your futility in his wake, people take to their cars in desperation and battle over parking spots in overflowing parking lots, and meanwhile we have New TTC Chair Adam Giambrone musing on new pipe dreams while millions (dollars and people) wait in vain for a subway expansion and the Harper government dream up new ways to stick it to Toronto. Who is Mr. Grinch?
