A few days ago, Anthony Farnell, young and knowledgeable weather forecaster for Global Ontario, threw down the gauntlet to Dave Devall, seasoned and much-loved forecaster for CTV Toronto, about the Sunday temperature forecast, claiming his forecast of 27C was correct, unlike that out-to-lunch Devall forecast of 21.
Ahem.
Farnell was off, way off. Devall was on the nose! It's too bad Devall backed off in later forecasts from what seemed like a radical prediction at the time, given how damn hot it was last week. The temperature creaked up to 21C by noon Sunday, July 20, 2008, and stayed there. The man knows his stuff, Devall that is.
